I am just realizing that I never posted this and I made the ice cream way back at the end of July! You can tell school has started! I used Green & Black’s 70% and the ice cream was outstanding. What a luxurious flavor! Thanks to Katrina of Baking and Boys for this selection!

My husband wasn’t too excited about this choice at first because he is devoted to vanilla and vanilla only! Despite his objections I told him I was making it anyway and boy was he glad I did. This ice cream was delicious and a bit messy when smoothing out the hardened caramel but all that patience and elbow grease certainly paid off. The flavor to me was more of a vanilla-caramel swirl- so, so good and will definitely be made over and over again this summer!

This ice cream was just so delicious, the hardest part about it was trying not to eat it all right out of the ice cream maker. I made plain vanilla because adding anything else would have been a turn off for my husband. (Although I am dying to make the mint chocolate chip version!) I made it for the first time for the 4th of July and have made it 3 more times since. It’s that fabulous!

I bought my first ice cream maker at costco a few weeks ago (I went in for paper towels and toilet paper and walked out with an ice cream maker too) 🙂 and I was really excited to make this recipe. The Georgia peaches aren’t quite ready just yet- so I used some farm fresh peaches from South Carolina. So fresh you bite into them and then half the juice is running down your chin (also makes it interesting to have to peel!).
This ice cream is soooo delicious!!! It would be so great with pie, a great summer treat!!!
